What started out started out as possibly a fantasy/sci-fi comedy morphs into a deep and touching psychological dramedy. Netflix does a great job with the For You Page.

Beautiful settings and cinematography. The cast is perfect. The screenplay vacillates between comedic beats, fantastical discussions, familial horror stories and employer/employee dynamics with ease. The story never becomes boring nor repetitive, interweaving the narrative from different character perspectives.

Life is shades of gray. How we deal with difficult topics yesterday frame who we are today. This show does a great job of illuminating how past actions dictate the present.

I found this movie browsing online. While I'm certain I am not the target audience, I found this movie highly entertaining. I didn't know this was based on a video game as the source material, so I didn't spend the movie in comparison mode as most of the other reviewers. Considering this as new IP, I loved the sci-fi punk aspects of the movie. The stars of this movie do a great job of becoming their characters. Witty, great dialogue and phenomenal cinematography.

For those that know nothing of the video game, but enjoy well written sci-fi comedies, this is a great one to watch. Much better than most of what has been made within the past five years.

You know this movie is going to be bad within the first 2 minutes. Listen Apple (and Hollywood by extension): excellent cinematography and casting will never make up for a subpar plot and abysmal writing. The dialogue in this movie is atrocious and there are serious pacing issues. I feel bad rating this movie so low, but this trash movie making has to stop!

I let the movie play while I started doing something else and then fell asleep to be awakened by the action at the end. This movie reminded me of watching the Transformers movie with Marly Mark. I never suspended my disbelief because the writing is just that bad. These phenomenal actors can't deliver these terrible lines and pull it off.
