So much promise! Oustanding cast, great direction and dialogue. All the makings of an entertaining and intellectual binge. All but for the ridiculous plot; it assumes the viewers are idiots and won't notice (or won't mind, not sure which is the greater condescension). It just got progressively worse-erer and worse-erer.... What? If they can peddle that rubbish, I can claim worse-erer as a real word! Tennant, Tucci et al should have sacked (or shot) the plot writer/s. The dialogue on the other hand is clever and, at times, brilliant. Sadly not enough to bring me back for another series.
WhaaaaaaatTF!
WhaaaaaaatTF!
The actor Rosie Day is 27 but the character she plays, Tina, is 15. So, in the gym sceene in episode 3 (or 4) in series 1, the producers are sexualising a 15 year old. This begs the question.....'WTF?'!
The show is reminiscent of The Durrells, only each family members accent is from a completely different part of the UK (was going to say England, but they're further than that).
It would be interesting to think what Americans think of this show because it really stereotypes them in a not too favourable light.
And another thing, 600 word minimum review, what's up with that, IMBD?
PS: Very sad about the recent passing of Leslie Jordan; he certainly added a lot of needed colour and tone to that show.

A very entertaining shot series was all the more engaging for your contribution. Nothing more to add.
