I watched the series with no expectations basis comparisons and it turned out to be a very good watch. Contrary to the many negative reviews, I felt the direction of Revathi very good and to the point. There is no melodrama at any point. The reactions to the situations very measured, matured and realistic. If one has to find a flaw, you could say that it's a tad elitist.

Priyamani was outstanding. I liked how every character was projected including the children, mother-in-law and friends.

Sampath Raj, Mekha Rajan, Aari Arjunan, Amrutha Srinivasan played their roles perfectly. What I enjoyed was the unspoken things emanating from each character: Guna - we don't know if he's really guilty; but his behaviour as a normal, suspicious husband; Lavanya as a demanding , sophisticated yet and a bit jealous employer; Tarunika who displayed a calm demeanour and a medley of emotions - I can go on!

Waiting for season 2!

Despite the negative reviews, after reading some positive reviews, I watched the movie today and I quite liked it. The first half especially was very good. Some things could have been different in the 2nd half.

Simbu nailed it and to some extent overshadowed Kamal.

Kamal has proved why he is a good actor. He acted with his eyes and expressions.

Some of the screenplay does appear to be indulgences - and can easily be edited out.

Songs are outstanding. I read some reviews that BgM was not good. It was very good I. Fact.

For many, the Trisha character seems to be spoiling the movie. Sure it need not have been there. But it was not totally out of character for a thug.

I would watch it again on OTT!

The movie is a harsh depiction of reality of many gullible migrant workers in Saudi Arabia. The 3 main characters have held the movie on their shoulders in a manner one cannot visualise.

The movie has been shot in excellent locations, the settings both beautiful and cruel. It is indeed a miracle that a few managed to escape - in a landscape that is treacherous.

The credit of the movie rests on the Director, Makeup team and Cameraman. Though it's a movie, I couldn't see many scenes as some were heart-wrenching. BGM score by AR Rahman is haunting.

The Director could have curbed the urge to insert the romantic song between Prithiviraj and Amala Paul. He probably thought it would give some relief to the audience from the incessant. But it would have been much better. The short reminiscences of the past were adequate - without the song.

The movie is best watched in the cinema hall.
