A true gem
had no trouble watching over and over more than 3 times
a wow performance, with realism in a way that makes us forget its acting so often
no emtional blackmail with cheap storylines milking bias and injustice out the story
plenty of goodness and humanity true to real people who still make mistakes
its makes subconsciously more forgiving
theres no perfect white or perfect black
u can decide how dark or bright in character is
and plenty of smart dialogue, and lines between the plots
ohhh and the music,
i cant really think of anything that could have made it any better
wish theres more of it or more like it.
I will just go replay it a fourth.

The screenplay is ... void of excitement.
The challenge is defeated like a dwarf.
Things just happen.
There are no moments of doubt and dispair to highlight the victory.
All the knives the central character needed, were simply handed to him.
I can't blame the actors for their hard but failed attempts because the screenplay is theatrical rather than filmic. It all lied on performance to create the emotional ride.
The camera was used as a gadget, not a storyteller.
Adherence to reality was glued to the plot, rather than weaved into it. It forced in many uncooked side characters and backstories.
I don't get the hype about this movie.
A pack of great names don't make a movie great.
Good thing it is not hard to unsee.
I wish Dexter Fletcher would have a go at it. Not that I think the story is worth it, but he could have given it more than it is worth.

I am compelled to write a review for this great movie, because it deserves a better rating in my opinion. So, here's my vote ...
A very careful crafting of a story, every element of the film tells that story without an extra ounce.
I just discovered that this film was by the same director as Bohemian Rhapsody and the breath taking Rocketman
Hats off to Dexter Fletcher, such consistency in great storytelling through film is no work of chance.
Eddie the Eagle is not about a music legend, but the director did not need the help of great songs to make a great movie.
Dexter Fletcher and the Oscar worthy Taron Egerton are an exceptional combo.
There are so many great lines in this movie. The one I put on my wall was "If I had done my best, I could come last and be happier" I think I will turn this into a tattoo
Someone's contribution to humanity was a simple, seemingly insignificant coffee table book. I wonder if he knew what a GREAT thing his SIMPLE work did!
