I was looking for something to watch before sleep. I had already had dinner, and I was in my pajamas in bed, I watched a few trailers of recent movies and they just didn't catch my attention, then Disney+ recommended Niagara. I put it on only because the one and only Marilyn Monroe was in it, and omg. It was so refreshing to watch, the acting, the colors, the settings, the dialogs, everything was so different from what I'm used to.
At first I thought it was gonna be super slow and the acting would throw me off, but it didn't, in fact I was so into the movie that I even liked all that.
I guess I understand why some people say movies are garbage but compared to decades ago. Although I disagree with that, watching Niagara was an awesome experience.

Let's start by saying how good of a performance this was by Austin Butler. The man played the role perfectly and you can see how dedicated he was to playing Elvis. His movements, his voice, his facial expressions and his charisma are spot on. 10/10 performance from him.
The movie started so well, it had an original style and, as the story progressed through the years, you could understand well how huge Elvis was during his time. The impact he had on so many aspects of society in the 50s was crazy. Keep in mind that some events are fictionalized and didn't have been exactly as portrayed in the film.
I didn't like the roll of Tom Hanks in this movie. Giving his character more importance than Elvis himself felt so out of place. I don't even know what they did to his nose but it threw me off throughout the entire movie. Maybe Tom Hanks was the right casting for this role, and the Colonel Tom Parker character was written accurately, but it was just weird what role he played in the movie. I like, however, how in the end we all understand how damaging Colonel Parker was to Elvis Presley's life.
I would give this a 10 out of 10 if it wasn't for the acting from Tom Hanks and the choice in the storytelling in the second half of the film. I would have liked to see more moments of Elvis on his own without Parker, more of Priscilla, a better explanation on how he passed, and other relationships he had with people outside his family and his career.

The fact that people are giving this amazing documentary a lower rating than it deserves, just because they don't like the narrator, is sad. Beautiful pictures and an amazing production showing things that have never been in the filmed before, with footage of the darkest and brightest parts of different species of penguins. Simply lovely.
Maybe Blake Lively could have done a better job with the narration, and that's on National Geographic, but if that makes an almost 10/10 documentary a seven for you, you are overreacting.
I think there were two things that this documentary could have improved on:
1. Length. He could have easily being a five episode documentary, there is so much information that could have been shown more in depth. Still the quality of the three episodes was a 10.
2. Awareness. They mention how human beings have been part of the reason why penguins are an endangered species, but this could have been an opportunity to bring into scale how much damage we are making, who are responsible and what we need to change.
Overall a 9.5 out of 10 documentary but still could have improved just a little bit. I loved every single part of it.
