"Zero Day" starts out with a bang and a very strong, enticing first episode with a stellar ending to keep you wanting more.
Episodes 2-4 feel disjointed and bloated. We quickly lose the plot we started with, and the midsection of the series loses cohesion and purpose. These episodes only age poorly later when many of the elements that are in those episodes wind up being entirely pointless or irrelevant to the conclusion.
Episodes 5 and 6 bring things back around, but fail to answer all the questions from before. When the credits popped up on episode 6 I felt disappointed with the amount of plot holes, especially with this being a limited series and not recurring.
I wouldn't bother watching it or recommending. It wasn't a total waste of time, and the performances from a strong cast kept me engaged even when we lost our way. But it's not worth the six hour investment.

After having long-lived on my want to watch list, I finally got to sit down and watch "Get Out."
This movie was beautifully shot, excellently casted, the score was fantastic at setting the tone for each scene and section of the journey, and the crescendo of events is well constructed for solid storytelling that invites conversation to be had after the credits role. It's a well-done film that executes.
I would have liked a little bit *more* when it came to the motives of the family. A deeper insight into Rose's character in particular. It felt like there was more there than what was shown, same with Jeremy who should have had more screen time to illustrate the lengths the family was willing to go to, and how outside the scope of sanity they were.
Jordan Peele made a name for himself as a filmmaker with this one, and for good reason. I loved what he did with this, and would have loved a little bit more.

This movie is silly, goofy, cheesy, but it's supposed to be. It's meant to be fun and cliche and absurd in an innocent way. It's not cinematic masterpiece; it's a movie that was made to appeal to a young audience and for them to think about how cool it would be for Calvin Cambridge's life to be their life.
I had a joyful time watching this movie (on DVD!) about kids, basketball, and family. I let the nostalgia take me for a fun ride.
