This is part 2 of a two-part documentary, with each part being two hours. I wrote my lengthier review for part 1, also giving it ten stars. If you've watched part 1 and enjoyed it, you'll want to finish with part 2.
I was a big fan of George W. Bush when he was elected. I live in Texas, and he was our governor for six years before becoming president. I had a lot of respect for him. I will admit that his eight years as President were underwhelming, and that has always bothered me. So I was very interested in seeing how that info was portrayed in this documentary.
All in all, this was an excellent recap of his two terms. It covers events that led to how he got there, giving a lot of insight to how he made decisions and who he chose to trust.
I totally understand that he had some bad failures during his administration. But it has always bothered me that people believed that he was uncaring and aloof, as well as unintelligent. I know he came across that way to many, but I never bought it. And I'm glad that this documentary brings out his compassionate side. I'm also glad that history is being more kind to him. He should be held accountable for his failures, and this documentary does that. But there is a HUGE difference between the character of this man compared to Donald Trump.

This documentary came out the end of August 2020, well before the 2020 election. I didn't watch it until the end of February 2021. So there has been a lot that has happened since its release.
Like anyone who watches this, I came into it with my own biases. Spoiler alert - they were totally confirmed.
Nothing that was presented in here was a surprise to me. I've read articles and seen info about Trump's behavior over his career. I've seen the comparisons to how dictatorships arose from democracies. I've seen info from those who have been close to him. But I always like to see opinions from experts that further validate what I believe. And this documentary delivers.
Even though I felt I was well-aware of Trump's issues, I was caught off-guard on the aftermath of the election. This documentary explains why Trump has been so dangerous for our country in those four months. I'm sure if there was a postscript to this documentary, there would be a whole lot of "I told you so".
Unlike the hucksters who continue to perpetuate absurd conspiracy theories about election fraud, everyone in this documentary is a legitimate expert. Sadly, many people will dismiss these experts and yet believe the "experts" that are still spouting absurd nonsense.
If you are a Trump supporter, you'll no doubt hate this documentary. You'll call it "fake news", a "liberal hatchet job", yada yada yada. Yeah, whatever. I hope you'll come to realize that you supported a president who was nowhere near up to the task, but I really doubt you will...
