This movie had promise has great actors has good filmmaking techniques, and a premise that has promise.

What the director-writer did with the premise, the actors, the filming and sets was a purely self-indulgent mess... trying to be David Lynch without any of the emotional depth.

It failed completely in the end...I watched almost all the way through and then finally, when things got too ridiculous, I decided to stop and save myself a little bit of time to write this review.

I do not recommend this film at all.

The Nice Guys...starts out nice...interesting setups, and we get to know these two oddball characters set in the 80's (70's?). Then it quickly falls off the rails as one lucky break for the plot spills into another...completely unbelievable! (i gave the first one or two co-incidences a break, but it kept happening...too flippin convenient).

Yes there are some genuine funny moments...Ryan and Russel do there best with comedy and they have shining moments. But the directing of the other actors is thin and lacking in depth.

The plot twists make little sense, and the attempt to make this a real funny buddy cop like film falls far short of its goal. It was looking for 'franchise' and did not deliver at all.

Having the 'kid' show up in all these adult scenes was weird, trying to make her a main character was weird...forced, it just didnt work.

It looks like some guy who used to do porn decided to be a writer/directer of a 'real' movie...it looked like it was filled with lots of ex-porn actors etc...just a weird vibe all around.

I do not suggest you watch this film...pretty much a waste of a couple hours. Why on earth Ryan and Russel did this film, i will never know.

A great and heartwarming show!!! Very well written and directed! Excellent character arcs and believable dialogue! Love the great use of 'foil' characters...brilliant!

I was not so into the premise, not being big into golf myself, but the above mentioned excellence and including: great use of music, editing, shooting and solid acting from everyone...is making this show another Ted lasso for me!!!

Get past episode 4, and you will be hooked!

I love the pacing, the ebb and flow of tension vs the characters having to go through their rites of passages with each one pulling their weight...there are no character fillers here!

Watch it!!! You wont be sorry!

(Unless you dont like healing and redemption...in which case...i feel sorry for you!) :)
