As a fan, I was really hoping for more, but this episode was mid at best. The animation felt clunky, with stiff movements and awkward transitions that took me out of the experience. On top of that, the episode leaned way too hard on super obvious cliché tropes-predictable moments, forced drama, and overused storytelling beats that made everything feel uninspired. While there were some decent moments, they weren't enough to make up for the lack of originality and polish. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it definitely didn't live up to expectations. Hoping the next episode improves. I dont understand these 10/10 reviews at all. Since this was only a filler, im still optimistic.
What happened to The Rookie being an entertaining cop show? It feels like every episode this season is less about telling a good story and more about lecturing the audience on how we should think and feel. This episode takes it to the next level, grinding the plot to a halt every five minutes so the characters can deliver clunky, self-righteous monologues. At this point, it feels less like a scripted drama and more like a PSA pretending to be television.
The show used to be about John Nolan and the challenges of being a middle-aged rookie cop. Now, it's turned into an awkward sermon where everyone speaks like they're reading straight from Twitter threads. Even characters who used to be fun, like Tim Bradford and Lucy Chen, are shoved into these roles where they spout politically correct buzzwords instead of acting like real people. It's frustrating to see a show that once had charm and personality reduce itself to this preachy, agenda-driven storytelling.

Tbh this one of the first episodes where I wanted to skip scenes since Amber Tamblyn as Martha M. Masters is unsufferable.
1) it doesnt make any logical sense. "Lets add the female genious doctor, but she cant practice medicine since she isnt even a doctor yet.
2) the character is extremely obnoxious and hard to listen to.
I just hope this was the only appearence of here in House. Im not sure if I can continue watching it with her in it.
And in the end the try to make her more appealing by remembering schaub felt so desperate to make here somewhat likeable.
