This series was well done! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. The writing was clever and well executed. Whenever there is story with many moving parts, it can get confusing very easily. But this was clear and beautifully paced. I love that it was wrapped up in six episodes and didn't drag on needlessly. The actors were fantastic and as with any foreign language series or movie, I recommend watching it in the original language with subtitles. The dubbed voiceovers never match the actors sufficiently and it takes away from overall quality of the performances. This is a good one to binge in a weekend.
I love a good murder mystery (emphasis on the word "good") and this is a fantastic murder mystery series! First of all, give Uzo Aduba her flowers! She is wonderful in this and I will watch anything she is in from now on. I can't stress enough how much I appreciate that the lead detective in the series is a woman of colour. Benoit Blanc who? The entire cast is wonderful. If I made a list of my favourites, it would just be most of the actors, so just trust me when I say the entire cast is wonderful. The writing is clever, the directing is on point, and the pacing is almost perfect. I felt the last couple episodes were longer than they needed to be, but it wasn't enough to ruin the overall show. Sit back and enjoy this one. It's fun, witty, and well done.
First of all, I recommend watching this in the original Korean with English subtitles. The English voiceovers ruin the performances by the actors and throw off the overall tone of the interactions.
The premise of the series is unique and I appreciate the creativity of the show. It portrays divorce as something not to be ashamed of and I think it's easy for people, even in this day and age, to still view divorce as taboo. They highlight the importance of self-awareness and effort when it comes to a relationship, which is easily forgotten if couples have been together for a long time. The concept of this series really is refreshing.
The insurance jargon can be a bit much in the beginning, but the show provides explanations and you don't really have to be an expert to understand what the characters are trying to accomplish. Speaking of the characters, I love the chemistry between the actors. Particularly the love/hate bromance between Noh Ki-jun (Lee Dong-wook) and An Jeon-man (Lee Kwang-soo). They are ridiculous and hilarious together! Overall, it's a cute rom-com that provides a unique examination of divorce.
