The strong influence of classic Mexican television novels is evident. A great episode, showing us the most human aspects of this family. It also touches on themes such as the disconnection between the two families; people "grow" and evolve, for better or worse, and those changes in our being aren't always for the benefit of those closest to us, but...
It's painful, but life is like that; sometimes following our heart and making decisions goes beyond our morality or our sense of family.
Another aspect to consider is how everything we've seen before connects and fills us with context. I like that synchronicity, as if saying, "Not everything is what it seems." I also liked the bonfire scene, which perfectly expresses the director's feelings and pain.

One of the best episodes of this season; beyond the problems of the mayor and his wife; and Liv and her concern for her "friend." Without going into too much detail, this episode gives us pause to reflect on the bonds we have, whether they be close friendships like Asta and Darcy and Dan, which entail mutual growth, or family relationships and closer, biological attachments like Harry and his "baby," and the Alien Hunter and his lost son. Despite the years, despite the effort, there are always things to sacrifice, even knowing that someone doesn't like us. But bonds are harder to analyze, but they can endure.
