I must say that I'm biased when comes to Brazilian shows, being a native i feel more deeply connected with the pieces and want to support the artwork that my country is doing, whoever is not always that I'm capable of supporting a show, every country has bad work, happily this is not the case.
Camila Morgado and Lena Roque are the stars in this piece, i love how the high and intense tone of the character Heloisa gives balance with the silent and the fader tone of Dinorah in the first episodes, the dynamic of them, with a very condense and eloquent dialogue that looks almost like a play is delightful. The supporting cast is mixed, with a lot of weak acting with some high points here and there, sometimes too much character with interesting stories, but no screen time for a deeper work on their storylines and there's in a lot of scenes the use of camera technique with visual effects combine to create an emotion that doesn't look the greatest too, looks a bit too much.
The script very often repeats explanation that is very clear to the audience and can make the show look a little tiresome but all this doesn't take the fact that the plot is a very good one, can be cliché, but if you look closer is a very interesting study on how the problems of the Brazilian prison system are all very well connected with politics, big companies and our police system.
I really hope a second season on this one!
