Now that's how you kick off a series. The first episode is every zombie/apocalypse lovers dream. There's nothing that excites me more than seeing the beginning of the outbreak and how it starts, as well as all the civilians reactions. They executed the brutality and harshness of a global outbreak in that episode so damn well. It was exhilarating! Now the series in total is amazing, but after the first episode, I do wish there was more zombie/infected scenes rather than drama. That being said, it never lost me or got me bored, it's still entertaining and the acting and storyline is superb. I'm just a sucker for zombie action sequences so I always want more of that. All in all, Pedro Pascal kills it and it's a brilliant series so far. Excited for what season 2 has in store.
Disappointing. I'm just patiently waiting for something to come even remotely close to being as good as The Punisher or Daredevil. I thought this was going to be it, with the R-rating thinking it was going to be bloody and gritty and brutal. But no, just boring and a poor storyline. Marvel needs to listen to the people and bring back R-rated series with intense and bloody action sequences like Frank Castle on a rampage or Daredevil. That's real entertainment. Listen to the ratings, those 2 shows easily have the top 2 spots of all the Marvel series outside of the MCU avengers and what not. This show was a real disappointment and would almost say a waste of time, and this is coming from a marvel fanatic...
When Frank Castle was first introduced in Season 2 of Daredevil I was mesmerized. He completely stole the show from Daredevil and it was brutal, bloody and beautiful. I was more than thrilled to hear he was getting is own series. Couldn't have been a more perfect execution. Jon Bernthal absolutely nails the character of Frank Castle and is a total beast. This show has some of the best action sequences and fight scenes I've ever seen. What makes me like and respect this show so much is that it's realistic, and believable. I hate in other big blockbuster action movies the main character never takes a bullet or gets hurt and just dodges every hit or shot, not the punisher. He gets beat, shot, slashed, stabbed but still manages to beat the hell out of the enemies. The blood and gore is riveting and has a superb script and storyline to follow. Watching Frank Castle work isn't for the faint of heart, he's brutal, ruthless, relentless and takes out his enemies mercilessly and in gruesome fashion. This is easily marvels best work and I wish they'd make more R-rated marvel series/movies.
