It's not every year that a film comes along and completely surprises you - not with flashy effects, not with an overstuffed cast list, but with heart. Kadikoy Bogasi is that rare Turkish film that manages to be both hilarious and heartbreaking, absurd and sincere. I went into the cinema expecting a light, silly comedy. What I got was a modern folk tale..
Like Gump, our main character doesn't fit the mold of the "classic hero." He is awkward, unpolished, sometimes unintentionally funny. But that's exactly why you can't take your eyes off him. Mustafa Basaran, in his own life and now on the big screen, embodies a type of raw authenticity that feels almost extinct in cinema today. His friendship with his loyal dog comar and his endless, almost childlike devotion to Rabia give the movie its emotional backbone. Beneath the memes, the one-liners, and the viral culture that gave birth to "Kadikoy Bogasi," there's a deeply moving story about resilience, love, and simply existing as yourself in a world that tries to make you something else.

The movie's dark tone and the remarkable performances of the child actors contribute to its brilliance. Achieving the feat of being an exorcist film devoid of religious elements is a noteworthy accomplishment. The film, at times, struggles to treat its core horror theme with the seriousness it deserves, rendering it more unsettling. The leading actor, Pedro, falters with some exceedingly foolish decisions, constituting a weak point. In the final quarter, the movie loses its tempo, yet manages to maintain discomfort for the viewers. Despite its flaws, it stands as one of the best horror movies of the year.
Wtf! The whole genre is changed without any solid reason! To be honest the first movie's groundhog day based horror style is not totaly original, but at least the thriller story flow has some good elements. This movie betrays the previous one in total. Don't lose your time to watch it especially if you like the first one.
