This series is ruined by all the "previously", "coming up", competition and bits of previous episodes. If you add in 4 x 5 mins of adverts, the actual content of each 1 hour programme is about 30 minutes. I found it all very annoying. There are 4 episodes and the female presenter wore the same clothes in each one, so either the whole 4 episodes were filmed in one day or her suitcase got lost at the airport. Dan Snow may well have worn the same clothes too - who takes any notice of men's clothes?
Having said that, if you can concentrate on the actual new content, the documentary is very good. I have been to Pompeii myself and there were a lot of things in the programme I didn't know about. It's a pity they didn't film it at a time when the general public weren't wandering about.

As mentioned by another reviewer, the two episodes of this story are missing from iPlayer, presumably because it's about child abuse. There are plenty of other shows about child abuse so I do t know why they are being so sensitive.
Anyway, I am working my way through this show from the beginning and I watched this on u&alibi. What was odd is that from the start of series 3 the women have different, shorter hairstyles but in this episode they are back to their longer hair, like these 2 episodes have just been shoved into series 3 for some reason.
I will add that I love this show, I have no idea why I didn't watch it the first time it was broadcast, and am looking forward to the remaining 6 series!

Midsomer Murders used to be my favourite program. I've watched each episode over and over again even though I knew who did it. It has been deteriorating lately but this episode hit rock bottom. The plot was terrible, people's motives were obvious within about an hour the we had to wait another hour for this rubbish to end. Remember when MM was criticised for white only actors? This episode had POC, gays, trans, cis, cross-dressing and drag queens galore. It seemed more like an attempt to be modern than a murder mystery. I'm not watching it any more as this episode spoiled it for me. I'll have to go back to John Nettles repeats!
