Please don't find this not helpful, it's my personal opinion and I don't want to be downvoted just for speaking my opinion.
I think this season premiere is more than average, yes. It features the brilliant Colman Domingo, has great cinematography.
I have to say the pacing is quite off, it can be a bit dull at times and dragging.
As well as characters acting foolish despite the fact they've been in the apocalypse for over 3 years now and should know better.
I give it a 6.5/10.
