'W' is a 16-episode long Korean drama starring Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo in lead roles. The drama shows the clash between 'two worlds', the real world and the alternate universe from a webtoon, named 'W'. The show focuses on the fictional webtoon 'W', which starts to function on its own, like another reality in a different time frame. The reason why I started watching this drama was because of the appreciation that it had received for its highly unique and creative plot, which is a true fact as story is really remarkable and very well-imagined.
Talking about the acting, everyone has done a fairly good job in this show. Lee Jong Suk, as the main character of the webtoon and Han Hyo Joo as a person from the 'real' world, have shown good chemistry and have played out their parts very well. Also, Kim Eui Sung has done an appreciable job in playing the different roles assigned to him (his character really creeps me out at one point of time :') ).
The entire drama deserves all the appreciation that it has got. The plot is very intriguing and is filled with hairpin-bends and breath-taking plot twists. One thing that I really loved about the show is the way they transitioned from animation to real visuals. It was very exciting to watch the transition each time and it was done very skillfully. All in all, 'W' is a very good show which is very exciting to watch. If you get a chance, don't miss out on watching this adventurous show which is surely going to leave you amazed and surprised.

'Beyond Evil' is a 16-episode long Korean drama, starring Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo in pivotal roles. The story is about two police officers who are determined to solve the case of a 20-year old murder case. Their desire to uncover the truth is strong enough to lead them to bend laws and reach a stage where they question everyone around them, including themselves. The main reason behind me starting this drama was the amount of appreciation it got in the recent Baeksang Arts Awards. The drama was easily able to sweep away the 'Best Actor', 'Best Drama' and 'Best Screenplay' among many other titles, which perked up my curiosity and led me into giving it a watch.
Talking about the acting, one man that stands over all others will be Shin Ha Kyun. He is the brightest star in the big galaxy of actors in the show (haha, poetic much--:P). He has done a very good job and deserves all the appreciation that he has been getting after this show. The finesse with which he is able to convey each and every emotion to the viewer is highly commendable. On the other hand, Yeo Jin Goo also has done a stupendous job of maintaining a steady love-hate relationship towards Shin Ha Kyun's character. Both the actors' chemistry is very well maintained throughout the drama, and makes it a delightful watch.
While the first half of the drama was very intriguing, scary and full of suspense, the second half doesn't seem to match up to the already maintained thrill. Things get a tad bit slow and predictable but the show is still watchable and holds adequate amount of suspense to keep you hooked. Overall, 'Beyond Evil' is a very compelling drama to watch. It talks about the actual power that a cop holds and throws light on the evil face of people in power, which is hidden by their mask of good deeds. For people who enjoy watching thriller and suspense-filled dramas, this show is a very good pick and is worth a try.

'SKY Castle' is a 20-episode long Korean drama, starring Yum Jung Ah, Kim Seo Hyung and Lee Tae Ran in pivotal roles. The show is about the harsh ways used by elite families, to get their kids' into one of the renowned universities of South Korea, namely the 'SKY' universities (Seoul University, Korea University and Yonsei University). The main protagonist of the show, Han Seo Jin (played by Yum Jung Ah) hires a tutor, Kim Joo Young (played by Kim Seo Hyung) for her daughter, who is hell-bent on getting admission into the Seoul University as a medical student. The tutor is very well-known in her field and charges a fortune from the parents to makes their kids eligible for admission in the elite colleges, by hook or crook.
I started watching this show, mainly, because of the huge popularity that it gained over a short amount of time. This came as a surprise to most people as the show did not contain any famous heartthrob, not that the actors in the show are bad (in fact, they are top-class). This fact made me more curious about the show and thus, I ended up watching it (correction-binge watching it---). After watching the first few episodes, I realized that the audience were giving more importance to the story of the drama, which is a too good to be true fact, because most of the time, people get more attracted to the pretty-faces in a k-drama, than giving importance to the script. But I am very happy that 'SKY Castle' got a very well-deserved appreciation from the audience, who did not judge the book by its cover, in this case.
Talking about the acting, everybody did a very decent job throughout. The chemistry between Yum Jung Ah and Kim Seo Hyung was explosive and very well-maintained throughout the drama. Kim Seo Hyung's tutor role, literally, gave me chills and made me extremely scared of her, but that is just a proof of her commendable acting.
'SKY Castle' is a powerhouse of good drama which manages to keep the viewers at the edge of their seats. The show has some very intriguing scenes which are going to give you goose-bumps. It gives an insight into the toxic side of the rich, their wish to accomplish everything in life, for which they do everything they can, without realizing that they are in fact harming their own selves, in the process. The show challenged me to place myself in the shoes of various characters and think about what my take would have been in their place. This drama is a must watch for someone who has been bored of watching cliché romance and wants something exciting. It will also make you 'best-friends' with the 'next-episode' button (as was the case with me--- ;) ). If you are someone who is craving for good content, fiery characters and nail-biting situations, then 'SKY Castle' is a total thumbs-up for you.
