I absolutely love how this show has embraced more of a underlying story. This episode rewards the attention to previous seasons and it makes it all the more exciting to watch! There is so much humanity within each character that really gets time to show up on screen. I don't know if this was always the goal, or if this is a kind of way to show those awful Rick and Morty fans a different way of expressing emotion, but it's great. I think using comedy as a machine to explore issues within ourselves and the world can be a powerful tool. I hope to see more lore, references to past events, and characterization as we keep going this season.
Harkens back the original Predator movie- a lone survivor has to use what they've learned to defeat the beast. This film is simple and beautifully shot. Also MAJOR shout out to Sarah Schachner for the brilliant score.
This show perfectly captures the cheesy, mystery, thriller tone of the original show. If anyone is coming to this wanting some kind of masterpiece, you're not in the right place. PLL is sometimes hilariously bad, but that's what makes it so endearing. Really well done and I am excited to see more!
