A decent show, but they ruined it in season 3. It's hard to recognise the main characters now, Sara, Mathias, Erik and Thea. They've made an already annoying character (Felix) even more annoying, and gave him too much prominence, and the inclusion of Olivia didn't work as well. I was very disappointed by the queerbaiting they did at the end of season 2, and the way the relationship between Erik and Mathias was handled in S3. They are trying to queerbaiting me again for S4, but this time it's too late. Even if something interesting happens between the two of them, I don't think it will make any sense.
Once again Hollywood takes a reasonable European film and copied it entirely just because its producers thought Americans wouldn't like watching the original film with subtitles. A great excuse for a lack of ideas. Yes, you can argue that both of them are based on the same book, but you can't ignore the fact that Tom Hanks' new film features practically the same scenes and shots as the original Swedish film, making it inevitable not to watch it without drawing comparisons all the time.
Unfortunately, this time Hollywood made a big mistake and managed to ruin a film that was almost too perfect. Tom Hanks fails to convince as a grumpy retired old man, something that the actor from the 2015 film achieved impeccably, and his son Truman, who is not an actor, gives one of the worst performances ever seen on a film, to the point where his scenes border on unbearable. Furthermore, the film's characters are much more caricatured than in the Swedish film "A man called Ove", and the decision to include actors of different ethnicities and gender identities seemed more like a forced attempt to please the market. Maybe it would work, if only their performances had been better than those of the original cast. If you ever intend to watch this film, please do yourself a favor and watch the original Swedish production instead.
