I have been trying really hard to like the Acolyte. But even the BEST episode still just isn't that good.
Every part of the plot from start to finish is completely predictable. It's okay to let your audience feel like they've solved a puzzle, but why not make the mystery a little bit more difficult to figure out? We didn't figure it out because they dropped any kinds of hints for us either. We figured it out because it was PREDICTABLE
Also, the fight scenes were awesome- If the people fighting weren't Jedi. My opinion of a fight between many-vs-one is this - if I as an audience member have enough time to notice that one of the people surrounding a fighter has time to stab them, then they have enough time to stab them. The Stranger had his back turned for way too long to not get killed several times when surrounded by his enemies. That's just bad choreography. Especially when everyone is using the Force.

I really hated the first episode. It reminded me of everything wrong with Disney Star Wars. Although the second episode wasn't MUCH better, it did get more enjoyable. They set up all the pandering in the first episode, so once you get past that and know what to expect, you can enjoy the show for what it is.
I'm disappointed at how they made yet another goofy male character over-eager to fight being berated by a wiser, more discerning female character. It's like Disney's go-to for the last 20 years.
The action is great. The Star Wars mysteries are being developed. Hopefully they finally bring in some more of the religious aspects of the Force that fans have been dying for in the live-action stuff.

Don't let people's political opinions sway you from thinking about the ACTUAL story happening in the show. Put the pandering to liberal ideologies found throughout the modern SW books, movies, and shows aside, and pay attention to the facts. This is just poorly written Star Wars.
A Jedi seen in a fight in the opening scene seems to forget what we all know about the Force - it does not require use of your five senses to be felt, used, and manipulated. The entire fight is performed by someone highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, but apparently not skilled in use of the Force. The first scene we ever see Luke using the Force, he's literally blind-folded and able to block attacks. Not so for this highly-skilled Jedi Master- she only reacts to what she's looking at... Afterward, the story is predictable beyond belief. I literally said what the plot twist was going to be out loud before they even hinted at it. I hope episode 2 and onward have some redeeming qualities for the show.
