This movie was very enjoyable. Over-the-top deaths, humor, and a tried-and-true horror/stalker formula make for one hell of a film. The plot may not be original (crazy killer stalking and killing people on a holiday), but it is still a lot of fun, and the killer is not entirely without a conscious, which I thought was pretty cool.
As I am watching The Running Man for the upteenth time, I decided to write a review for it. I absolutely love this movie!
It was one of the few Arnold movies I had not seen growing up as a kid in the 80's and did not watch it until I was in my mid-20's. Arnold has his one-liners, there is plenty of action, and Richard Dawson is in it!
Additionally, Maria Conchita Alonso is the reluctant leading lady and she brings some light-hearted levity to the film as well. This movie is funny and the plot is wildly entertaining.
Imagine American Gladiators, but the gladiators hunt down the contestants (whom are convicts) and it's either kill or be killed. But this time, they selected the wrong contestant!

What makes this film interesting isn't the plot or the acting or even the antagonist (or protagonist depending on your perspective).
What makes the film interesting is that is is filmed from the killer's point of view (and again, you can debate if he is the hero or villain).
There are gruesome kills a-plenty and the formula for the film follows Friday the 13th very closely. In fact, if you put a hockey mask on the killer, you got yourself a Friday the 13th movie.
But aside from that, I found it to be interesting. It is not a classic horror film by any stretch, but it is a watchable slasher with enough blood and guts to satiate fans of the horror genre.
