Billy Bob is my fave. Great subtle acting as always, but did the director really have to push the smoking that much? Billy doesn't need that extra character quirk, but that seems to be a theme these days in Hollywood.

Other quirks weren't necessary for other characters either. Who would hire a slob of an engineer that blows up canned beans in the nuke or walks with filthy boots on the carpet? I don't know any like that. If I did, they wouldn't work for me.

The over the top side story is Billy's ex who acts like a ho in every scene. The cringeworthy shot of her in high heels and bathing suit in the country club shows the desperation of a middle aged woman going all in for shock effect.

Worse is the skanky daughter's ridiculous lines where she describes her sex moves in pornographic detail to dad.

Creepy as hell. I would have awarded one more star if it wasn't for those two twits.

I just fast forwarded through those bits and took in the beautiful expanse of Texas.

Poor acting in general. The mother should have been cast as a grandmother. It was totally unbelievable that she had an affair with handsome Arik. And she used to be a diplomat? Really? She acted like a hysterical nut bar intent on f&*^ng up the negotiations at every step. 90% of the time when Pia appeared I was hoping someone would slap her.

The dubbing was awful. Obviously the producers cheaped out and hired voice actors from Essex Is Us .

Beautiful scenery, though. If they cut out half the dialog and replaced it with desert footage of lizards and wildlife with narration by Richard Attenborough, the series would be watchable.
