There exists an American version of this called Alone. If you haven't watched it and are struggling to decide which one to see. Pick this one. You can still watch both, but you have been warned.
Better cast, more in-depth story, characters more in forefront. Action scenes not much worse and I just love how every action is more believable. Zombies look more realistic.
One underrated area, is how they use more modern means to solve their problems in this version. Social network plays a role, a drone is being used. The protagonists have a flashlight and a thermocan in their apartment. The US version used paper (?), a baseball bat and physical strength...

The promise was there, the storyline ready written in detail, the scenes easily manageable amd then the US version makes the main protagonist look like a big loser who's only drive in live seems to be sex amd alcohol. Without those two components he would have taken his life much earlier, lol.
Then, some obvious story holes, like he receives some text messages on his smartphone and they show him try to call his family, but apparently he can't think of sending text messages by himself???
They also don't provide a clear ending and it wouldn't be particularly bad if I hadn't watched the next week the Korean version of this. My God, that version was superior in every aspect.
