You know that wonderful feeling of having something exciting to wake up to on the weekend? This is it. This is what makes good Star Wars and if you are on the sidelines not sure if you should watch this show because of the horrible recent Disney stuff lately, you're missing out.
It captures what makes the original Star Wars fun and adventurous. The stakes feel real, the characters feel real. The writing is top tier and the production value is on par with Andor.
If Disney has one mainline show like Andor, and 1-2 of these smaller budget, could be one off adventures in the Star Wars universe, you got subscription. What did well here is capture the wonder that Star Wars has. If there isn't a season 2, make an animated adventure series or give these same writers another series. You got a winning team here.

What Foundation show runners and writers were able to execute (and it comes full fruition this episode) is the telling of a long, galactic spanning story in a compelling and entertaining way...wait isn't that what the Foundation books do? Yes it is and they did it this season in a TV format.
The reveal of demerzel's origins and how both her and the cleons are trapped in their cycle is one of the most poetic arcs of recent science fiction. I can't stop thinking about it longer after watching the episode on this. It's interesting that the writers were able to take source material and create deep and meaningful original narrative but in line with the theme of the source material. Bravo sirs.

Hey Paramount executives who are reading this, this is the Star Trek show we want. Keep on making more of it. This has the feel of a thrilling DS9 or TNG episode yet is modern with a new blend of characters. The writing, acting, and plot points are exciting (was on the edge of my seat the entire time). This entire season of Strange New Worlds have a good mix of serious episodes like this and laid back ones to enjoy, the balance combination of it is what makes Trek enjoyable. They really nail it this season and we have a terrific season finale. The Gorn has won its place as one of the most terrifying Trek villains up there with the Borg. Well done.
