I think if you are new into chinese drama esp one in classic costume and you are a girl who all about sweet romance and romantic comedy, than The prisoner of Beauty is the perfect started pack!

It seems dark or serious during 1-2 episode but it's turn into more romantic comedy and family & friendship bonding with further episode. You don't need to think hard and just enjoy the flow of this drama and have fun and yes smiling all along. Yes since its costume drama of course there gonna be some up and down but overall it's a sweet historical romantic comedy to warm you with face and laugh out loud.

Wu lei as ling buyi imo is the general of all general. He serve so well, i can't believe he is quite young as he acts so well. The changing of his eyes when he is in general mode to when he stare to his beloved is insane that feel like he really a real cold general with darkest past and at same time also a human a man who fall in love and fall even harder everyday to the female lead.

This drama what made me fall deeper into the charms of cdrama again after sometime. Frim story to yes the unbeatable beautiful cinematography of cdrama with high budget even make want to go back to ancient china. Highly recommended.

This drama turn up cooler than I expected although at the time this drama release both main lead aren't as big as not but from main leads to all, i think the production team pick the perfect actor and actress! I find Xiao zhan & Wang yibo from this drama And need them to act in another drama or movie together. Their chemistry is great. I need them to act in another colossal drama costume whether as enemy or even as sibling i think they gonna pull it off. I feel like wang yibo and xiao zhan also can pull a classic martial drama or movie as they pull hanfu so perfectly. Them as modern villain also interesting to see or something very modern boyish like fast and furious movie or another internal affair vibe.
