"12 Angry Men" truly stands top in the landscape of cinema; it's one of those rare films that, while simple and seemingly understated at first glance, proves to be absolutely remarkable thanks to its execution. I have immense admiration for the entire crew for pulling off such a feat. Despite its straightforward premise, the film never lets the audience feel bored-it really feels as though you're right there in the deliberation, part of the jury room discussions.
Given that it was made in the late 1950s, the film's stability, performances, and storytelling are all just impeccable. The fact that everything unfolds within the tight confines of a single room with 12 jurors, tasked with determining whether an 18-year-old boy is guilty or not guilty of murder, only adds to its intensity. Each character was crafted with care-their varying personalities and attitudes were performed with genuine skill by the cast.
Some scenes are simply stunning: there are stretches of 5, even 7-8 minutes performed uncut in a single shot, with every actor nailing their part. The film never gives too much or too little-everything is delivered in just the right amount, with perfect balance and quality.
For a movie made in 1957, the screenplay is truly exceptional-unlike anything I've seen before. There are no negatives here; it's a masterpiece that easily earns a full 10 out of 10.
My highest appreciation goes to Sidney Lumet and his entire team for creating such an outstanding piece of cinema.

Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain is a steady film revolving around a small but heartfelt plot. It follows Yashwant, a middle-aged man who struggles to express his love for his wife, Kiran, resulting in cracks in their relationship and leading them to consider parting ways. With help from his daughter and son-in-law, Yashwant learns new ways to communicate his feelings to Kiran.
The movie maintains focus-never straying from its core story, instead taking the viewers on an honest journey peppered with emotional ups and downs. It could have been even better if the filmmakers had left out some unnecessary scenes; some characters lingered on-screen even after their roles were fulfilled, which took away some quality of the film. Additionally, the ending could have been strengthened to elevate the experience further.
Despite these small flaws, Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain stands out as more unique and compelling than many routine Bollywood releases. It's certainly above average, and although there's always room for improvement, it's a film audiences can admire.

This is the kind of cinema that everyone truly deserves to experience. A Time to Kill stands out as a magnificent masterpiece that, surprisingly, often goes unmentioned despite its brilliance. At first, the film may seem to unfold at a slow and steady pace, but this deliberate approach is one of its greatest strengths. The way it skillfully and swiftly delves deeper into its characters and storyline is absolutely spectacular. It delivers a cinematic experience that is profoundly satisfying-leaving you with that unforgettable after-smile, much like the lingering sweetness of a perfectly crafted dessert, affirming that you have just witnessed an exceptional work of art.
Every aspect-the pacing, the acting, the quality of work, the script, and the dialogues-is thoroughly excellent. Although the film is older and some shots might have benefited from more precision, especially with today's technological advancements, it's clear that the focus was never on extravagant shots or scenes. Rather, the filmmakers were dedicated to conveying a powerful message and presenting an outstanding piece of cinema that the audience deserves. If this movie was produced within the last couple of years, it would likely have incorporated more slo-mo scenes and heightened suspense. Nevertheless, what it offers remains deeply felt and incredibly realistic, perfectly capturing the tone and atmosphere of 1980s and 1990s America.
As time moves forward and technology continues to advance, the chances of encountering films like this are becoming increasingly slim. Not just this film, but the pinnacle of Hollywood masterpieces spanning from the late 20th century up to the works of celebrated directors such as Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and David Fincher are becoming rare jewels in cinema history. Hats off to Joel Schumacher and his entire team for crafting this remarkable film that stands tall alongside those legends.
