Right so I have mostly watched the older seasons of this show and they were essentially perfect. They had very good storytelling and a perfectly realistic aesthetic and a great design of the set and the engines themselves to be appealing. This show brought me great joy when I was younger and it still appeals to me today however in the newer CGI episodes the show has clearly lost some of the charm and character, I am specifically referring to big world big adventures. This era is the one that got rid of both Henry and Edward who were two of the earliest characters in the entire series and replacing them with two new girls that were introduced in odd ways. Nia at the very least had a whole movie to introduce herself while Rebecca just showed up and was automatically made part of the steam team like really? Sir Topham Hatt has also been seriously dumbed down in the CGI era as a whole from being a stern but caring authority figure in the classic seasons to somewhat of a joke and comic relief character with a less serious tone in later seasons. Mattel is also simply trying to make a cheap buck out of thomas by sending him across the world which is not really bad but is not too great. Another minor annoyance churned out by mattel is the fact that most other diesel engines are just repainted 08 shunters around the world in every other country. It has not really been helped by the fact that this show has been cancelled and replaced by some mediocre kiddy thomas.
