Initially, I had a preconceived notion that Chandramukhi would be another typical Marathi film. However, my doubts were completely dispelled after watching the promotional videos. Amruta Khanvilkar's expressions and body language as the titular character, and Adinath Kothare's calm yet powerful portrayal of his role, were absolutely brilliant.
The story, based on Vishwas Patil's novel, is a well-known one, but the film's presentation is what truly sets it apart. It gives a voice to countless girls who live with similar pain and unspoken stories, which is incredibly moving. The film's music, composed by Ajay-Atul, is not just catchy but also deeply meaningful, a quality that is often missing in today's songs.
Chandramukhi is a testament to the rich history and great writers that Marathi cinema has. The film beautifully reflects this heritage, making it a masterpiece that deserves to be seen and appreciated. I revisited this film on IMDb and felt compelled to share my review once again. It is a must-watch for its compelling narrative, outstanding performances, and soulful music.
