This episode is truly a new low for Toei Animation, the episode felt like it was produced cheaply by a small team making a YouTube kids cartoon. First, it was filled with free to use stock sounds that come from a library called Cartoon Trax Volume 1 (source: SFX wiki as well as me who has the library downloaded), this is not just specific to this episode but to the whole show, which takes away much of the immersion as you hear the same sound effects all over again which are present in Teletubbies and Cocomelon (again, SFX wiki and I'm dead serious, I wish I was lying). It's not just limited to the Gear 5 sounds, but the whole show, for example Akainu's magma was a splat sound but no one noticed. Gear 5 needs to have cartoon sounds but original sfx just like literally every other TV series in the world has a foley department, which One Piece lacks. But what made this episode even worse is that Toei is now using free to use stock video footage. The explosions were not CGI, they were green screen videos of explosions and added on top of CGI ships, this was most of the episode due to its lackluster pacing.

Earns a 6 from me just because Oda is a genius and One Piece is a great series, but this was truly horrible.
