Oho Enthan Baby is a refreshing take on romance through the lens of an aspiring filmmaker named Ashwin (Rudra), making both his acting debut and launching into Tamil cinema. Alongside him, Mithila Palkar shines in her Tamil debut, playing Meera, a nuanced and emotionally grounded love interest
The story kicks off with Ashwin pitching a thriller to actor Vishnu Vishal (playing himself), but the actor nudges him toward a love story instead. What follows is a guided narrative where Ashwin revisits his romantic journey-from tumultuous first love in school to adult heartbreak-and ultimately seeks closure by reconnecting with Meera
The film's charm lies in its meta-awareness and light-hearted tone. Director Krishnakumar Ramakumar injects Gen-Z energy with a breezy style, playful meta-jokes, and an authentic vibe that resonates with younger audiences
The cinematography is sleek and modern, supported by an engaging soundtrack from Jen Martin and Ved Shankar-especially the standout single "Natchathira"
Where it falters is in its second half. Critics point out that the film resorts to predictable clichés and wraps up emotional arcs somewhat too neatly for characters carrying deep flaws and trauma
Still, performances feel fresh and grounded-Rudra conveys believably raw emotion, while Mithila brings both intelligence and emotional authenticity
Notably, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan praised the film's "rare" storyline, signaling that its originality resonated even beyond Tamil cinema.
