This is like watching the comic come alive and jump off the page with all the black and white darkness and splashes of color. The lightning and cinematographer magically straddles the world of film and comic brought to life with its poetic narration. The cast of characters in the short stories are played by some really great actors making it all better.

Part 1 was awful enough even though everyone seemed to jump on the "this is amazing" bandwagon. But it was better than Part 2 which is more of the bloated Harry Potter wannabe school of wizardry done poorly to fill up time AND we get more horrible music not worth listening to beyond it's place in the film. And while Ariana Grande gets praise, it doesn't change the fact that her "I'm so cute" acting shoved into a ballgown is not good acting, it's a performance on stage for adoring fans. And the "2" rating got an extra point each for costumes and Cynthia.

Let's start with the making yet another sorcerers school, only this one is really boring with a lot of mediocre music. It goes nowhere with nothing happening for the first half, and no room to even enjoy good music and great dancing since it has neither. Making matters worse, Ariana Grande pushing the "I look cute" narrative is really horrific, but she's famous and can hit big notes so bad acting is not a concern. Cynthia is the only thing holding it barely together. And can we please stop hiring Bowen Yang for every Asian role, his acting is worse than his comedy. I'm not jumping on the praise bandwagon for this waste of time. Extra point for costumes and set design.
