First off I'm just not into romantic drama... i accept that virtually everything has some aspects of it and thats fine but when its so prominant like in in this show it automatically just puts me off.

The first couple of episodes were really good and really got me into it straight away.. seeing the girshas abilities made me think of avatar the last airbender series and i was expecting more action with the girshas going into episodes 3 and beyond.

What it turned out to be was 40% of that and 60% love triangle story... still even considering this i still enjoyed it which is unusual for me so i will give it its due..

despite what i didnt like there was so much still to like.. the world looks amazing the acting was ok overall and i'm hoping if theres a season 2 it will be more exciting going forward.

After watching Sweet Home on Netflix I was really intrigued with this actress so looked into other stuff she was in that might interest me and this film fit the bill!

You have to remember youre watching an action revenge flick.. nothing more nothing less..

for what it is i really enjoyed it... it does get a little silly with what happens to her sister but without giving away spoilers thats all i'll say.

If you like revenge films you wont be dissapointed.. just make sure you leave your brain at the door and your suspension of disbeleif is at level 1000.... (more for the sister rather than the actual heroine.. who is very beleivably badass)

Its not as good as the first movie by a long shot... It has its problems.. its too long for starters i could say they could edit a good 45 minutes out of it because the plot is weak and very thin.. it would have been a much better experience if it was in the 1h30 to 45 minutes range. I'm sure a lot of people hate this more than they would if it was substantially shorter.

Its quite cheesy at times.. but hey its an 80s setting and the feel of the movie in general is very different to the more serious vibe of the first film so i am ok with that in this instance.

I did go in with very little expectation due to reading a lot of the 1 star reviews here.. so with that in mind i was pleasantly surprised.

Is this movie good? its ok.... i know i have seen far far worse that deserve 1 or 2 stars and although this movie isnt great its enjoyable enough for a one time viewing i think and definitely isnt as bad as a 1 or 2 star film

Its a high five or a low six for me overall.. worth a watch if you're a fan or not... but i wont be buying the blu ray for it....

.... because i watched the pilot... and it was bad... like a 1/10 bad..

but i carried on and by episode 3 i found it very interesting.. the plot twists and the dynamics between the two leads is good.. also alba and unions characters in a sense are more interesting than the male leads in bad boys... at the end of the day lawrence and smiths characters were decent guys and good cops.. union and alba are shifty to say the least and its very compelling to see what kind of dodgy shenanigans they will do next..

its not a great show.. but its a good watch.. just get past the first episode which is really trying too hard and is just a cheesefest and by episode 3 it really does change for the best and becomes a decent show.

its a strong 6/10 but im going to give it an extra point just because i love alba and unions chemistry.

my only real issue is sometimes the show feels like its trying too hard to remake some scenes from the bad boys film... theres homage and then theres literal scene for scene camera angles and rip offs.. and it doesnt need to do it... it lessens the show for me. Also the humour sometimes feels a little too juvenile for me.. but this is probably down to me getting older... i found the humour in bad boys funny when i watched it as a teen but 20 plus years later that kind of humour just annoys me.
