I watched all episodes of this series, even the one that other reviewers have found unappealing. Every ending leaves no loose ends, and you feel good when the credits roll.

I don't know if the showrunners planned only two episodes to end the series, but I as a viewer didn't feel like loose ends were tied up. Lynley and Havers walk off into the night or day, and that's the end. Did Lynley continue on as an Inspector? Did Barbara become a DI or finally get into a long-term relationship? These are all things that satisfy.

I am beginning to think that some British shows just end with no satisfaction, and you just have to deal with it.
