I had all the hopes in the world that maybe they would finally return Hellraiser back to what it is, but this is just another movie that was probably a bad screenplay that they added Pinhead to and called it a Hellraiser movie. If you're a fan of the first two, or even 3 or maybe even 4, then you're not going to like this. The only thing I find interesting is that since the 3rd I've only seen each sequel once (because of how dissapointing they were) and each were when they were new and I can recall the 5th one okay, the 6th one a little less, the 7th even lesser and this movie? I saw it a week ago and all I can remember about it is thinking "What?! Hellraiser isn't Christain Hell!!!!!"
If for some reason you entered the franchise late and never saw the first two, go and watch them to see how different and distant each sequel becomes after that. The second, although not written by Clive Barker, brings you deeper into the world of the Cenobytes and Pinhead comes off as much more complex than simply the devil like he seems to be in the sequels. It's been about 30 years since a good hellraiser movie came out and I don't know why I keep tormenting myself with thinknig a new one will be good. I had to watch this one in sections because of how... Unhellraiser it felt. And that was because I was in the mood for a hellraiser movie and ended up turning this one off to watch the second one again. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid and wanted to be sure I wasn't making up memories) I wasn't and this isn't hellraiser.
It's sad that Bill Nye has to make a show like this to help explain science and what it's used for. It's not for most of us who already have a good understanding of science and what it's about. But the show is a little funny. Certainly points out the fears that I see these days and brings forth some important issues that are upsetting to find to be true, and I'm sure a lot of people will watch this and get angry and start using arguments about politics or liberalism which I couldn't find in the show. It's more of a conservative show really, or at least the first episode shows how important conservation is. I hope more and more of the youth get into science because it's almost like we want our children to be stupid.
This is a great show to give you an idea of science and the future. Especially if science scares you, it can help you understand what it's all about. It features quite a few recognizable faces in the science community I was happy to see along with Bill Nye. My only qualm with the show is somehow people seem to be getting weird things about politics or liberalism from it that I didn't find any of. I think some people are just upset that they don't understand science and there seems to be a repetitive campaign as I was looking at some reviews a lot of people seemed to have cut and paste an article from conspiracy site on here. So if you see any reviews starting off with "not much science" ignore it, it's from a crazy site that think magnets are magic. (hehe)

I had to write my first review on here to let anyone out there who was a fan of the original MST3K that they have little to worry about. The return was actually a little more than I was expecting! The jokes a bit more quick fire than before, which with today's attention span helps with those who thought the original was too slow. Now, I'm obviously biased with this one seeing as how I'm from Minnesota and grew up watching the show since it was a small local network show when I was like 8 up to it's end the year I graduated high school. To my amazement, I cried shortly after I started the first episode and had to pause it until I could return to a less emotional state of happiness before continuing.
I also strongly believe that this show is very important in these times we're currently living in too. (It's 2017 and if you're reading this in the future, I hope hope hope things got better because everything seems to be going wrong right now) and this show is one of the few heart filled good times for the whole family where you can sit back and enjoy some time in front of the TV with some family, friends or just Jonah, Tom Servo, Crow, Cambot, Gypsy and the Mads. And it's super easy to go back to the originals anytime if you wish, just look for it and you shall find. Keep circulating the tapes to those who know what that mean! :)
