For some strange reason, the moment the movie ended I wanted to watch it again.
Don't hear what I'm not saying. I did not like the movie but I was intrigued by it.
Honestly, most of the time I was confused by where the plot was going. Amber's character was dumb and unnecessary, the whole "resistance" story felt half-baked and there were more than enough puns by Schwarzenegger. (It felt like I was watching Batman Forever again)
I'm curious where the Edgar Wright adaptation goes, because I really do think that the premise is interesting.
Best Character: Ben Richards Best Quote: "Only in a rerun." - Killian Best Scene: Landing in the Arena Best Piece of Score: Logo-Bakersfield.

Thanksgiving movie! I remember wondering when this came out why it didn't get a ton of attention. Now that I'm rewatching it a decade plus later, I understand why. The heist is underwhelming, the whole story feels one-note and the supporting cast is somewhat forgettable.
All of that aside, I actually really enjoyed this movie. I'll watch anything starring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy provided a few good laughs and I find myself quoting Matthew Broderick's Mr. Fitzhugh more often than I realized. There are some good third-act payoffs as well.
Not great, not bad, but still an enjoyable "holiday" flick.
Best Character: Mr. Fitzhugh Best Quote: " I'm very sorry, Mr. Shaw, but we don't accept tips at the tower." - Dev'Reaux Best Scene: Prepping for the Heist Best Piece of Score: "Theme from Tower Heist"

This movie started and I was like, "Heck yes! I'm not sure where the story is going to go, but I'm all in!"
20 minutes in.. "Tom Cruise is the man! ... and he's wearing a baseball cap for some reason."
40 minutes in... "This might be my favorite Sci-Fi movie ever!"
60 minutes in... "Why is Morgan Freeman dressed like Morpheus?"
80 minutes in... "Huh?"
100 minutes in... *checking my watch*
120 minutes in... "Okay. I never need to watch that movie again."
Such wasted potential.
Best Character: Victoria Best Quote: "Everybody dies, Sally. The thing is, to die well." - Jack Best Scene: Introducing the World Best Piece of Score: "Jack's Dream"
