- Genteel American character actress, in films with Columbia from 1935. Essentially played the same roles as Nella Walker or Marjorie Gateson, namely society matrons, gossipy spinsters or kindly mothers. She began her career on stage at the age of sixteen. She was later a leading lady with touring stock companies in San Francisco, Oakland, Salt Lake City, Washington, D.C., and Portland, Maine. She then had a ten-year run on Broadway from 1924, before commencing her Hollywood career.

- Bryant appeared for the first time in a musical role October 1 to November 1, 1912 in The Man Who Owns Broadway at Morosco's Burbank Theatre, produced by David M. Hartford. She was accompanied by Sophia Caldwell of Wheeling, West Virginia; Caldwell was then studying for the opera.
