I saw the original series of 'Girls und Panzer' when looking for another series. I was intrigued by the name and watched one episode. It was rather strange, but not bad. There is something cool to weird Japanese things, if you'd ask me. And in case you are not familiar to the original series, watch that first. Since this single episode does not have any reviews and barely any ratings, I felt compelled to write a review. Keeping in mind the spoiler level, I feel safe to say that in this extended episode, Miho and her crew of 'battle hardened tankists' face a semi-Italian opponent in an apparently second round of interschool contests. I give it an 8 out of 10 because it is (in the light of the full series) a nice extension which shows some events that happen after the series end. What I particularly like in this series (and in this extended episode as well) is that it feels both a bit nostalgic while there are a lot of historically correct references to the second world war (and its tanks). However, it is a strange series which need a bit of Japanofilia to be fully appreciated, so if you don't at least like Miyazaki, don't bother. Personally, I'd never thought I like a series like this but I'm having the 'Harry Potter sickness' (albeit to a lesser extend) which entails me being sad that I've watched all episodes.
