I used to see many soft versions of hardcore porn movies, whether British releases, or Playboy Channel edits. Lately I've seen a couple, and in this case found it instructive.
JoyBear's "Housemates 2" starring American import Tyler Nixon, was released in Germany as "Hard Lessons", the version I saw before watching the original British hardcore cut. It plays very well soft, with alternate angles and a crisp 75-minute running time compared to the integral 95 version.
Tyler's presence merely points up that the Brit Porn talent pool, fast diminishing as so many local stars spread their wings and become worldwide stars working in Chatsworth or Paris, has no young male ingenues like Tyler to play the roles he's made famous. Solution is merely to pay for Nixon's plane ticket.
Naturally, he plays an American artist who's moved to London, hoping to reunite with his ex-girlfriend Ava Dalush. (Dalush of course is a famous Brit whose Stateside career has been booming of late.) By the time he hooks up with her, we've witnessed the sexual antics of his various hot roommates.
Casting coup has Sam Bentley and her successor at the top Stella Cox in the same movie, though wisely not playing together, as they represent the same type. An unknown director credited as Jesse Caracas fails to generate much energy in the sex scenes, but the overall effect of lovely women serviced by okay studs is friendly and satisfying. It's why JoyBear from its inception has always been a Couples label.
So the lesson here is to avoid "Hard Lessons" unless you like your porn shorn of its XXX content.
