Does it matter that much? are gore films usually realistic as hell? this isn't a biopic or a real life drama or something like that. it's a bloody violent movie that keeps you entertained throughout its length. Plus, it's becautifully filme it has great camera shots and cool music. yeah it's not the most realistic piece, but cmon does it really needs to be? i think in some movies you don't need absolute realism or factual truth. you just go for the ride, and if it's a fun one, the rest doesn't matter that much-
it's a fun movie. it has lots of blood, some gory scenes and a heroine - it could play as a comic book too and it would be very interesting at it. Superhero movies are 0 realistic and still have good grades. This one at least is better shot and has a really cool cinematography. if you don't watch it expecting a schindler's list you will like it.

What distinguishes Coralie Fargeat from her contemporaries in the realm of emerging directors is her unique film-making style.
Despite having directed only two feature films in her career, her directorial characteristics can be easily discerned through a careful examination of her work thus far.
These are my personal observations...
1. Fargeat exhibits a remarkable comfort and affection for incorporating nudity into her films, skillfully presenting the human body, both male and female in a sensual manner that avoids being vulgar or obscene.
2. This same effortless quality is evident in her portrayal of blood and gore, which is both unhinged and stomach churning. Lot of credit is also due to the makeup and prosthetics team, who play a crucial role in helping Fargeat attain her artistic vision.
3. Another notable aspect of her work is her editing style. Fargeat prefers to edit her films herself, employing a distinctive technique that effectively merges sequential frames in a order that brings urgency, thereby creating tension and suspense in an effortless way.
4. Her specific knack for foreshadowing and prognostication is noteworthy. As she prefers to write her own screenplays too, she adeptly weaves these elements into her narratives, which I find particularly admirable.
5. And last but not the least, Fargeat consistently emphasizes themes of Woman empowerment, regardless of the narrative or genre she is delving into, which is commendable, though I digress.
Returning to "Revenge," the movie delivers precisely what its title may already suggest: a revenge narrative characterized by a well-executed build-up and a decent enough payoff, albeit accompanied by some logical inconsistencies and over-reliance on known tropes.

As the title suggest, this flick is a straight-up revenge outing. I have to say, this is one of the most stylish film I've seen. The film almost belongs to the technical department; The production/set design, cinematography and other technical values were top-notch. The score along with some soundtracks were well-chosen, serving the narrative well in the background. This movie is eye candy. As for the story, it is savagely predictable 'course but the movie has an edge to it that makes it a standout. Halfway through the movie, a certain event happened and most of the things that takes place after that are somewhat trippy so it is best to accept it for what it is. The cast performance was good enough to keep one engaged with the characters. Overall, while this movie has its flaw, it is a really well-made movie technically and quite enjoyable if one doesn't think too hard.
..like a kid back in the 80's,going to the videostore and picking up a VHS and watching it with red ears.
Yes sure,..plotholes all over the place. And zero storyline. Just revenge...
But the beautful shots, the music, the tension, the insane gore.
No Hollywood blockbuster, But the perfect Bmovie.
This became instantly one of my all time favorites. I've seen over 2k movies. I would use that film to teach tension at film school. Modern masterpiece. This was so unsettling from the very beginning. I wanted it to be over and to never end at the same time. Loved it. Must watch. If you can't see blood, this one is not for you. It felt like Mad Max, Home alone and Die hard had a threesome.

- AnecdotesRevenge was filmed at a Moroccan location, chosen for the nondescript, isolated appearance of its desert setting. A small village in the background of the villa was not filmed to create the sense that the characters in the film are totally alone.
- GaffesAfter Jen cauterizes her wound with the tin foil from a beer can, the printed logo for some strange reason is burned into her skin. Even more strange is the fact it doesn't appear as a mirror image.
