Mulawin vs Ravena

This sequel and reimagining of the beloved 2005 Telefantasya, the very show that propelled Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin to superstardom has fails to recapture the magic of its predecessor. While Heart Evangelista is undoubtedly a gifted actress, the undeniable truth remains: Angel Locsin will forever be Alwina in the hearts of fans. Her OG portrayal is so deeply ingrained in the minds of viewers that any attempt to replicate it feels like painting over a masterpiece with dull colors.

Also another bad thing in this show part was Derrick Monasterio's lackluster acting performance! Realtalk but why is this guy even an actor? He'd make a far better gym instructor or an underwear model than be an actor. His presence in this grand epic show feels like a misplaced puzzle piece, awkward and unnecessary shirtless scenes! Cringe!

Sad sad also unlike the original Mulawin, which soared in the ratings and effortlessly eclipsed "Claudine Barretto's Marina" with its sky-high success, this so-called "Requel" crumbled against the unstoppable force of "Coco Martin's Ang Probinsyano". Sure, the charming interplay between Pagaspas and Lawiswis added a flicker of nostalgia, and Bianca Umali delivered a commendable performance. However, the show ultimately collapsed under the weight of other poor casting choices, forcing unworthy replacements into super duper iconic roles. Unfortunately by the time this reboot came to fruition, many of the OG actors had already transfered to the rival network which made it impossible to reprise these beloved characters. All in all it's a cool show, but 2005 and the movie version was way better.
