Well,i dont blame this'' family'' for trying, but this story of door bumpers, the filming, locations, adult acting and behaviour and handflapping acting are just as pennyless as the dads wallet in this story.drugs, corrupt policing, slapping, trafficking, slavery, child neglect and abuse, and prostitusion are keywords in this feature.some of the teenage cast does show som good acting, but spending 126 minutes at this feature is a waste of time.
it is what i cathegories as a ''hey''-movie,and thats a bad sounding word to use in a feature movie. if yuo shall have a look at this,do use the double speed feature on your olayer
...and it shows. Jason London ('Dazed and Confused", "Broken Vessels') who is a Hollywood talent and played the dirty cop was paid $40. This story (much like my figures as to how much the talent was paid) was not really based on a true story either. I read an interview that was with the director/writer Michael Sneed, and there was absolutely no mention of this being based on a true story. Ever since "Fargo" did it, now everyone seems to do it. I gave it a 2 because I found the lack of talent and various screw ups in the final cut to be both amusing and humorous.
I don't understand what the deal is with this movie. Was it a social experiment? It was that bad! All of the acting in it was horrible. I highly doubt that most of the people acting in the film ever took real acting lessons. It is that bad. Many of them seemed like they were reading from a script during the filming. It was that bad. Again, I have searched online and cannot find anything that explains why this movie has such terrible acting. But, on the positive side, I have a much greater appreciation for real actors now. They deserve every penny of the millions they make. Maybe some of the people in this awful movie who pretended to be actors will someday be more convincing and come off as professional actors. Yes, it was THAT BAD.
After watching this movie my hope is Jeremy Loudon pays his audition manager/agency out of his contract and sells himself to someone who can actually sell him. As the other spoiler reviews have advised this looks very much 'Blair Witch/Fargo' in the camera styling, I am sure the actors were given much leeway due to the only descent part of this movie; the plot. Had this been made into a book and not a movie I am sure the reviews would have been much better, and the story is why this review gets a four.
The only one who could act was a little girl who came up to Crystal at the diner who gave her spare change. The grandmother was ok. The two main characters could be decent with some acting lessons but to be fair the dialogue was hard to pull off for the characters. Anyway, there are much better similar movies out there.
