Metta Via

'Metta Via' is full of outstanding special effects. The visuals are dazzling.

Here's another arresting visual: The look of a dog turning its head sideways in seeming befuddlement.

It's entirely possible to tell a complete, compelling story with images alone. Why, 90-odd years ago or more, that's all movies were. 'Metta Via' is profoundly less successful in that aim. The film-makers needed to devote less time to designing and substantially more to writing.

I commend those who find more of value in this short than I do. Clearly there's something I'm missing. Yet for lack of substance, I'm at a loss of what more to write. To paraphrase a classic line, what I see above all in 'Metta Via' is much sound and fury, signifying nothing.

One of the most beautiful films I have ever witnessed. The actress is phenomenal, cinematography great, music lovely, an incredible experience to watch.

While visually stunning, I didn't get what was really happening during this short film, maybe I'm too simple minded...?

For a part of public, maybe, for image and for artistic and technical concept . For a part of public - for idea. It is a nice try to remind the importance of memories and freedom. And it is well done. So, a young woman waking up. And the rest as trip to real freedom and high purpose.
