Huachicolero

A Mexican dramatic film. It is about a teenager who wants to impress a classmate and gets a job stealing hydrocarbons, which causes things to start to go wrong due to the political situation in the country. Heartbreaking. Raw Of a current and current historical event. Good direction, good camera handling, good performances. It does not fall into stereotypes and shows rural life as it is. The script, although it could be raw, is real, it shows Mexican folklore in all its reality. It shows how the opportunities of the system are sometimes few, crime, organized crime. The way hydrocarbons were stolen. With a light adolescent story that looks real, history is permeated. An interesting option to see.

This was a scarily realistic look under the cover of one of the largest crises in Mexico - fuel theft - a key driver of criminal violence and a huge economy for the country's organized criminal groups.

Great cinematography - Good to see rural Mexico portrayed in an accurate way. They captured the country really well, I felt like I was there.

Also some beautiful acting. I was emotionally invested by the end of the film and the story line was gripping. Again, it's one of the more realistic portrayals of a criminal racket and the consequences for those who get involved - would highly recommend!
