'Bob Biswas'; The Man, The Myth, The Legend. I'm just delighted that he finally got his stand-alone feature. Frankly speaking, it was long overdue! Since the release of Kahaani, back in 2012; I have been waiting for this day to come.
What was initially imitated by the Bengali Veteran, Saswata Chatterjee; for one reason or another, the role eventually landed in Junior Bacchan's Lap!
And Boy Oh Boy! Did he grab this opportunity with both hands.
Generally, I despise iconic roles being given to anybody other than the primary individual. In this case though, things are quite different. All thanks to Abhishek Bacchan; to put it in simpler words, he made the role his own. I know and I'm very much aware of his capacity as an out and out performer, but still, I wasn't expecting him to nail this specific role in this way and that too in such an elegant manner!
Now, the film itself isn't some embodiment of perfection, by no stretch of the imagination! Various arguments can be applied in regards to its comparatively dreary Screenplay or a myriad of vulnerable loopholes! Even the character developments, definitely not the strongest suit.
However, what it does best is that it empowers Bob Biswas with a sturdy enough platform, gives him this fairly newer personality, at the same time, showcases a rather personal side that was all hidden behind this veil of a psychotic, relentless murderer!
