    Pebble & Bamm Bamm

In response to Mike Garner, the Great Gazoo went back to his planet in the second to the last episode in season 6. The episode is called "My Fair Freddy."

As for Pebbles and Bamm Bamm; the show is easier to watch now then when it first came on. I guess I'm getting older. I do remember I didn't care for it then. They made Bamm Bamm out to be a coward. Not strong and brave like when he was a baby.

Also even though Pebbles and Bamm Bamm were older Gobbie hadn't grown even though he was a kid when Pebbles was a baby. But that is cartoons for you. They age when you want them to or stay young for ever.

    Also, where was Dino?

This show sinks to new depths...

I watched several episodes on the Boomerang channel hoping to see something of value in the Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show and am sad to report that I, too, am disappointed. Their voices are mismatched. Pebbles' voice is annoying (It's Gloria from All in the Family) Bamm-Bamm sure acts like a puscatore, and the rest of the gang have cartoony voices that totally detract from the rest of the main characters.

The episodes are as canned as the vegetables that sit in my local supermarket. The original Flintstones had wonderful story lines that had humor sprinkled throughout. This show is more like the opposite. The creators of this show had franchise and money on their minds - and it shows.

    Continuity Glitch

How come if Pebbles was born in 1963 (airdate time), can she be a teenager by 1971 (airdate time). Chronologically, she would have to be at least 8 years old, if looked at it age-wise. Not even 8 year old had curves (despite the trend in America for underage beauty queen pageants).

H-B execs must have picked it up eventually, but by the time Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm did mature, the continuity was out-of-whack by showing later Flintstones shows with the kids looking different than they were in '71.

I don't know when the marriage of P and B-B was shown, but hopefully the time lines were put back on the correct track.

Sorry to be picky, but i guess the kids (who watch the cartoons)wouldn't pick up on the continuity errors.

    Another I'll Conceived Spin Off

This is just another example of why in most cases that spin-offs of most classic television series don't work. The thing that I didn't like about it is the fact that Bamm Bamm, who when he was a baby was the strongest boy in the world, is comes off as rather wimpy and let's Pebbles talk him into a lot of her hair brained schemes. Also, the supporting cast was pretty much a carbon copy of a lot of the cast in the various versions of the "Archie" cartoon series. And the plots for many of the episodes of the were so stupid that it is no wonder that it only lasted for one season. However, when "The Flintstone Comedy Hour" premiered the next year, the Pebbles and Bamm Bamm shows were absorbed into this show.

Another thing that gets me is the fact that Pebbles and Bamm Bamm went from toddlers just five years earlier to being teenagers while Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty and Mr. Slate never seemed to age at all.

Yabba Dabba Doozie? Yabba Dabba Do? Yabba Dabba Not.

As for the previous comment that was said about this series is the main reason why in most-cases some of our favorite classic television spin-offs really don't work, and here is the reason why............ During the entire decade of the 1970's,the animation giant of the most trusted name in children's entertainment,Hanna-Barbera Productions were cranking out a lot of their own successful shows into spin-offs which by the way some of them in fact were absolutely horrible from the get-go,and there was a lot of them and this was something Hanna-Barbera did plenty of in the 1970's and way into the 1980's with some of their cartoon favorites, which by the way didn't work, and their were several.....From "Yogi Bear","The Flintstones","Scooby Doo","The Jetsons",and "Space Ghost" were made spin-offs out of the ordinary, all of them were either other clones or rehash of their own shows which were some of the worst kind of animation ever created for Saturday Mornings, and the spin-off to one of the longest running animated television series in prime time history, the spin-off to the 1960's television series to "The Flintstones"-"Peebles and Bamm-Bamm",was one of them.

Believe me,this was the worst of the worst, and how did Hanna-Barbera do this? By destroying one of the best beloved shows of all time, and believe me in the 1970's,there were I'll say a lot of "The Flintstones" spin-offs that were repulsive let alone completely terrible! And this was one of them! Need I say more? I saw a episode of "Peebles and Bamm-Bamm" not too long ago,and believe me what they did to one of the best loved characters of The Flintstones is very horrible! Watch it sometime. First off the series takes Peebles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble from being infants in The Flintstones to being annoying and repulsive teenagers with Peebles acting like a real spoiled brat! By the way, watch some of the episode where Peebles is actually wearing little or nothing since I'm surprised that the censors let that get into Saturday Mornings! And it supposed to be an children's show!

And Bamm-Bamm Rubble? How in the hell did this kid who was supposed to be the world's strongest baby in "The Flintstones",turn into a major wuss and become sort of a puscatore? How did he become such a wimp? And as for Peebles, she is very annoying and its here where she rebels against Fred and Wilma Flintstone(her own parents!)for attention! The show is repulsive and sometimes it lags along for a half-hour,with the usually hijinks between the kids(where Peebles is always trying to con Bamm Bamm into some hair-raising scheme)and sometimes usually with the gang they associated with where in each of the episode its usually Fred and Barney to get them out of a tight situation. The episodes and the musical numbers are just as canned as vegetables at the market, and the cartoony voices are very distracting(voiced by Sally Struthers, aka Gloria Bunker from All In The Family, and the other by Jay North, aka Dennis Mitchell from the Dennis The Menace TV series)which some of the plots were so stupid that its no wonder it lasted for one season, when it aired during Saturday Mornings on CBS-TV from 1971 to early 1972.

It was however, when CBS aired "The Flintstone Comedy Hour" in September of 1972,most of the "Peebles and Bamm-Bamm" shows were absorbed into this hour long format, and from there the episodes gotten so pathetic, the network dropped the show after nine episodes that same year, and from there the show founded a new home,in syndication in early 1973,and from there the "Flintstone Comedy Hour",remained on several syndicated television stations(where in was shown during the weekday afternoons)for an impressive six seasons, ending in the spring of 1976.

Then,Hanna-Barbera did the unthinkable which almost killed off the "Flintstone" franchise once and for all. In the fall of 1979,NBC-TV reunited and for a better response, resurrected the "Flintstone" franchise which an hour based the remaining characters and this time around it was based again on Peebles and Bamm-Bamm. This time around, the Flintstone family pet,Dino is along to help them solve mysteries in the form of the Scooby Doo formula which copied from that show and get this using the same voice characters from the original series(this time around by Sally Struthers as the voice of Peebles, and Fred Welker as the voice of Bamm-Bamm)which was so incredibly stupid indeed that the network dropped that show too, that same year. The was part of a series of episodes that appeared on "The Flintstone and Rubble Hour",and then "The Flintstone Mysteries".
