Comic book fun.
I came in expecting Wonder Woman, and what did I get? Nazis lurking in dark rooms with accents that are more 'dodgy village fair' than 'menacing.' For a pilot episode, it is outrageously over the top, but it achieves its goal: we're introduced to Wonder Woman herself, played with a surprising mix of strength and charm.
The island sequences are gloriously camp, with enough glamour and eyebrow-raising moments to keep the attention. The action is solid if occasionally awkward, and the dialogue swings between witty and unintentionally hilarious. The show leans heavily into spectacle, which works, mostly because the lead has enough charisma to carry it through.
Not a subtle show, not a nuanced show, but certainly an entertaining one. Worth watching if only for the sheer audacity of it all.
7/10.
Excellent Adaptation
Great Fun!
Lynda Carter may not ever be considered the best actress in the world, but that's just fine. She is simply amazing as Wonder Woman, bringing the perfect mix of warmth, sensitivity, and innocence to the role. I can't imagine anyone but the fabulous Lynda in the title role. Whoever lands the lead in the new WONDER WOMAN movie has some pretty big boots to fill.
The rest of the cast is also very good, Lyle Waggoner is especially charismatic and likeable as Steve Trevor. The production values are high, but some of the special effects naturally look dated. However the "bullets and bracelets" trick still looks impressive.
WONDER WOMAN is guaranteed to delight even the most harden cynics. Lynda Carter's heart-felt performance will easily win you over. My score: 8 out of 10 (the highest I've ever given a made for TV film)!
AWESOME, SIMPLY AWESOME
Lynda Carter Rocks !

- AnecdotesWhen Lynda Carter received word over the phone from her agent that she had landed the role of Wonder Woman, she only had $25 in her bank account and was ready to move back home.
- GaffesIn the Amazon hospital where Steve is being cared for, one of the Amazons glances at the camera although there's nothing to look at in the scene in that direction.

Marcia: You may be fast, Wonder Woman, but nobody can be in two places at the same time!
[laughs]
Wonder Woman: It's over, Marcia. You're through.
Marcia: You may have me, but the Third Reich will never be through. It will go on a thousand years!
Wonder Woman: I heard the Greeks and the Romans say the same thing.
Marcia: You heard that?
Wonder Woman: I may be older than I look.
- Autres versionsThe original opening credits for the TV movie started the same as the currently packaged version, which is with several stock footage scenes from the War. However, when the opening theme begins, the footage continues for another moment, showing an actual explosion. This was replaced with cartoon stars exploding in 1976. The home videos and DVD releases only feature the syndicated cartoon stars version and not the original broadcast film of 1975. Furthermore, for the TV movie only, the opening credits show the cartoon Wonder Woman leap into a blank panel, deflect bullets and knock out the attackers with a roundhouse punch! This is the same panel which was changed to an awkwardly inserted panel showing her twirling the lasso instead. Both the live explosion and the cartoon bullet-deflecting scenes were broadcast when the TV movie aired in syndication in the 1980s, but they've never been included in the home-video versions. Certain minor segments of the movie were replaced with more campy tones than the original film.
