Brad Pitt, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman, Christian Slater, Dennis Hopper, and Christopher Walken in À coeur perdu (1993)

Gaffes

À coeur perdu

Modifier

Continuity

When Alabama is being beaten up by Virgil, her face is bloodied early on. But when Virgil tosses her onto a half-wall and she slides across it, the blood vanishes from her face as she hits the wall (stunt double), and then reappears in the next shot.
After the roller coaster ride Bronson Pinchot's sweater goes from vomit soiled, to clean, to soiled in different places and back again.
When Alabama enters the theater where Clarence is watching Sang dans les Rues (1974), dialog that takes place in the first scene of that movie is heard. Once she sits down and lights a cigarette, it cuts to the screen and the movie is at the climax.

Factual errors

When Clarence shoots Drexl and Marty, he fires seven times without reloading. The gun he uses, however, is a six shot Smith & Wesson Model 66 revolver.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

In the final scene, Clarence and Alabama are seen driving on a seaside highway towards Mexico, passing a sign that reads "Mexican Border, 5 Miles". There is no coastal route connecting the United States and Mexico. The nearest entry point into Mexico is on Interstate 5 at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, which is about 5-6 miles inland from the coast.

Mis-read sign. It said: Exit to Mexico 5 miles.
When Nicky Dimes and Nicholson are talking to their boss, Dimes says "So they bring the suspect to me and Nicholson, and we go to work on him". Nicholson interjects "...Nicholson and I," which is incorrect grammatically, but goes to establish the backwards intellectual pretentiousness of the character.
When Virgil is beating on Alabama, he talks about how the first person you kill is the hardest. He refers to Charles Whitman and how hard it must have been to shoot the first person he drew a bead on. Whitman had already stabbed his wife and mother to death along with having killed three people inside the tower making his way to the observation deck. But Virgil wouldn't necessarily have been properly informed, so whether on purpose or inadvertently, this just helps to establish a lowlife goon's way of thinking.
Inside Clifford Worley's trailer, Coccotti and his crew casually leave their fingerprints all over the crime scene. Coccotti also leaves behind a cigarette butt and a wad of gum, which forensic experts would've tested for DNA evidence.

DNA was not so frequently tested in 1993. Tests cost a lot and took a long time.

Revealing mistakes

Obvious stuntman when Marvin is killed.
Obvious stunt driver in place of Clarence as he drives away from the Safari Motor Inn.

Miscellaneous

At about 1hr 52min the Point Blank Body Armor logo is largely exposed on the cop during the shootout. This shown to clearly be a blood bag. As he is shot the bullseye in the logo explodes outward along with a huge splash of blood. Not good advertising for the company. Hit the bullseye get a kill.

Errors in geography

In an establishing shot in front of the theater, supposedly in Detroit, where Clarence is watching Shin'ichi Chiba movies, there is a street sign in the background which says "Hollywood Boulevard". The theater itself is Vista Theater, a legendary smaller theater in East Hollywood.
Alabama and Clarence go and have pie at Rae's Restaurant after the Kung Fu movie. The restaurant is at 2901 Pico Blvd in Santa Monica, CA, not Detroit where the scene is set.

Character error

The comic book that Clarence shows Alabama is "Sleepwalker #8," and has nothing to do with a ring, a ship, or a man named Nick, which is the plot that Clarence explains to Alabama.
Agents Nicholson and Dimes argue over the grammatical correctness of "Me and Elliott" vs "Elliott and I". In this case the initial "Me and Elliott" would have been correct.
When Clarence and Alabama arrive in Los Angeles, they are driving along the freeway with the Capitol Records building in the background and the sun low on the horizon, indicating that it is evening. However, a radio announcer is talking about it being morning.
Elliott calls Lee on his car phone on Sunday. Lee tells him he will meet Clarence about Docteur Jivago (1965) at the Beverly Ambassador on Wednesday at 3:00. Elliott hangs up and says that Lee will meet them at 3:00, but he doesn't say what day.
