First Encounter

Still not sure what just happened , I opened Netflix, saw a sci-fi title, movie started , saw "dimension" studios and thought there has to be some money behind this , something half way decent. That's all I remember , just woke up drooling half catatonic as a result this galactically horrible film. There are no words other than I beg my fellow 'Brecca Brothers' not to watch this film. The acting was painful, the story was most likely written by a drunken sheep. It Felt like I was watching a low low budget TV series with set design inspired by the movies Red Dawn and Peter Pan on acid. I watch a lot of bad sci-fi movies ( thank you net flix ) but this one takes the cake. This could be A MST3K gem.

This "movie" is perhaps the most insulting piece of science fiction I've ever see. There is literally nothing redeeming about this film. Bad scrypt, horrible actors (I can't believe the guy from JAG is in this piece of garbage), special effects that could've been done better in the 1960s. This is the kind of film that you watch to see if it can really get any worse and IT DOES... A LOT. We're introduced to a spaceship "The Visitor" that is meant to be explored by a crew commanded by Mr. JAG himself. This crew does not only act like the most unprofessional bunch of "soldiers" you could hire but it definitely taught me that you can flirt and make sexual comments under any situation, yes "Alien Spaceship" included. If at this point you are thinking this might be one of those "it-is-so-bad-it-is-a-good-movie" please don't. The previously explained plot is only followed by some of the worst acting possible. I'm talking porno acting which coincidently suits the crappy scrypt and the rest of this abomination.

This film was a nightmare to work on.

I was recruited to work as a special visual effects artist on this film after several other people had quit. They had good reason to quit.

I had previously only worked as talent, the visual effect stuff was just a side hobby I had tinkered with when doing models and costuming.

The conditions were terrible, the story a joke and I had to constantly fight with the people I worked with over getting the right equipment and materials and being allowed to do my job correctly.

The visuals they called for directly conflicted with the story and changed on a daily basis, right along with the daily breakdown in equipment to do them.

I was shorted on pay, had things stolen by senior crew people, and was not credited for my work. The director had the nerve to send me a copy of his vanity press biography as "additional compensation".

There is not enough money in the world to get me to work with either Mahaffey or Ellis ever again.

The only good part was working with Trevor Goddard and Roddy Piper.

Probably one of the worst if not the worst movie I have ever seen. It was shown as "Moral Code" not First Encounter, unfortunately as we all know just a change in title does not help a bad film, and this was a bad film. Acting was bad, script was childish, props were "sanitary", Yes, they used bolts and sanitary fittings as some props, well thats what it appeared as, and the Alien's legs even had wire stiffeners to keep their legs straight. This must have been one of Trevor Goddard,s last films before his death, whatever made a decent actor like him (was in JAG for quite a while)accept a part in a film like this. The best part was looking at Holly Fields in her underwear, now she is nice. They shouldn't have been granted a permit to film this and the ending was also strange, it didn't gel at all, terrible, awful, bad, tasteless, boring the list goes on.
