Speech: The Function of Gestures

A nebbish gets up and gives a dull speech, standing still like he doesn't wish to be seen. Then a normal human being gets up and gives the same dull speech, with gestures. Now he sounds like a maniac.

All of which goes to show that people react to gestures. I am sure some people have flipped a few at you that caused a reaction. I know I've gotten a few like that.

The point made is a good one. If you're going to give a public speech, it helps if you seem to think what you have to say is interesting, and when we are interested, we tend to use our hands. So maybe you should use yours. Or perhaps, you should keep your mouth shut. Especialy if you're going to give the speech these guys give in this movie.
