Cranford

I saw both versions & I can say with certainty that the newer Cranford is so much better than this. The dresses & hats here remind me of a school play. The ladies look ten times better in the newer version. The interior of their house looks small, dark, & drab. When you watch the new Cranford you'll see the difference. They had a good eye & you can tell more time, effort, & money was spent on the sets. The furniture, dishes, candles, curtains, piano etc., shine in the new Cranford. The inside of the shop in the 1st episode is so small & drab. When the ladies go outside in the newer version they show horses & carriages & the trip into town is a million times better. The acting of the ladies isn't up to snuff here. They just don't hold your attention & the story is without life. In the newer Cranford the ladies have so much more personality & they make the story come alive. The new Cranford I watched through every episode to the end, was sad there wasn't more, so I rewatched it, & then bought it. I rated it a 10. This version I had a hard time getting through, I don't want to rewatch it, & gave it a 4.
